The Land Preservation Society, Inc. is a non-profit, independent conservation group
chartered in 1970 by the State of Massachusetts. We are dedicated to conserving
woodlands and wetlands for the protection of plant and animal species and the health
of the planet.
Our first purchase was funded by a loan from the Nature Conservancy in 1971,
and was one of many connected parcels we acquired that help protect wetlands
and Norton's water supply.
Now part of the Canoe River Lands, It is located on Red Mill Rd.
We currently hold over 1100 acres of land , with many walkable trails to explore.
Hit the Trails to see a detailed map of the Canoe River Lands and other preserves you may want to visit.
The purpose of the Land Preservation Society of Norton is to protect natural resources, to preserve natural areas and historic sites, and to provide open space for the benefit of the general public; to educate the public about the wise use of natural resources; and to work with other organizations having similar purposes.
