Learn more about Aaron Portanova

Aaron Portanova graduated from Wheaton College (MA) in 2018 with a degree in Geoscience, and has since supported LPS by leveraging geospatial technology to produce maps of
the hiking trails that span LPS land. Aaron developed a strong interest for mapping while studying geology in New Zealand during his Junior year at Wheaton. After returning from Junior year abroad, Aaron investigated his overlapping interests in geology and rock climbing in his Senior capstone by mapping climbing hotspots from around the world. This experience led to his involvement with LPS, where he continues to expand his GIS work. Aaron is currently pursuing a Masters degree in GIS at Johns Hopkins University, and expects to graduate in 2022.
